hi people! it's 1st of september, and yes, it's TEACHERS' DAY! ^^

firstly, HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY to our dear instructors and teachers-in-charge. thank you for everything you had done for this band, and also, teaching us the values in life. you all made me realised that band is not as simple as just playing an instrument, there are definitely more things one can learn from. at the end of the day, when i walked out from the band room, i will definitely bring with me all that you have taught, like "measure twice, cut once." and learning to serve. whenever things went wrong, or we were not trying our best, you guys did not give up on us but instead, encouraged us to go further and motivated us with your anecdotes. thank you for all the efforts you had put in for this band and we really appreciate it. you all had certainly touched our lives, and made a difference in everyone of us.

to the seniors and alumni of the band, yes! you are our teacher too! (: you may not be one who teach us amaths etc, but you guys were, without doubt, the ones who taught us the basics and all, for band. without you, all of us might not even know how to set up the instrument the correct way, or even maintain it. without you, some of us might not even know how to read a simple score nor the fingerings for every note. without you, the band would not even be what it is today. thank you for lightening the workload of our instructors, as well as paving this road for all of us, putting in your most into zwinds. thank you for building this band up, and rest assure, we will continue to bring this band up and so will the later generations. the tears, the sweat, the joy, the hard work and all that you had put in this band, will definitely not go to waste.

last but not least, to every single one of you in band, thank you for the time and efforts you had put. i had learnt quite a lot from everyone of you without you knowing it! i guess it's all these small little life lessons we learnt from each other that makes zwinds so unique(: let us continue working hard and cherish the time we have together. unleash your potential and do your best for everything you do. that's the motto of my primary school, haha! hard work will always pay off. as long as you don't give up on yourself and on one another, all that you had put in will be worthwhile. remember, you reap what you sow.

to the sec4/5s, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. so, besides mugging for your prelims, take some time off to have a break too! :) all the best for your preliems and Os, jia you!

to the rest, all play and no work makes Jack no.2 a lazy boy. so, learn from both Jack no1 and Jack no2, you'll get Jack no3, one who spends his time wisely and set his priorities right. study hard for your EOYs, and i hope all of you can acheive your goals. although there might be times you really feel like giving up, think about those periods when all of us persevered on and how we managed to succeed in the end. keep the faith there, and i know all of us can do it. :)
